Sarcoptes scabiei |

| TRANSMISSION
Through close personal contact, including sexual contact, shared bedding, towels, and clothing. |

| SYMPTOMS:
FIRST APPEARANCE: 2-4 weeks after contact WOMEN - Intense itching (most often at night) and a rash. Scabies burrow under skin, mostly at the webs of finger, abdomen, and pubic area. Scabies are rarely found on the upper back neck, face, scalp, palms and soles. MEN - Same |

| TREATMENT:
Medicated shampoo or lotion applied to infested area. Clothes, towels, sheets and other shared items should be thoroughly washed with the same shampoo or using clorox; you also may want to just destroy them. TREATMENT OF PARTNER IS ESSENTIAL |
