To gain the maximum protection, you must use the condom correctly.  The following diagrams will show you the correct placement and usage of the Reality® Female Condom.  You also need to know when to use a new one, if a usage problem occurs. Please check this information.
THE CONDOM
The open end covers the area around the opening of the vagina.  The inner ring is used for insertion, and to help hold the sheath in place.
HOLDING THE SHEATH
Hold the inner ring between thumb and middle finger. Put the index finger on pouch between other two fingers, or you can just squeeze the ring together.

INSERTING THE CONDOM
Insert the sheath as far as it will go. When you can't feel it, it's in the right place. It doesn't hurt and it CANNOT GO TOO FAR.  Add lubricant to the inside of sheath or to the penis.  Start with two drops and add more if desired.

Use more lubricant if:

  • the penis does not move freely in and out
  • the outer ring is pushed inside
  • there is noise during sex
  • you feel the Female Condom® when it is in place

  • the Female Condom® comes out of the vagina during use
MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE CORRECT PLACEMENT
The outer ring should be outside the vagina and the sheath should not be twisted.

REMOVING THE CONDOM
ALWAYS REMOVE THE CONDOM BEFORE STANDING UP.  Squeeze and twist the outer ring.  Pull out gently.  Dispose in a trash container, do not flush in the toilet.
Always Remove and insert a new condom if:
  • the condom rips or tears during insertion or use
  • the outer ring is pushed inside
  • the penis enters outside the pouch
  • the condom bunches inside the vagina
  • you have sex again
