About the Author: MJ Bovo

One of this country's leading laser surgeons, Dr. Bovo no longer performs surgery or obstetrics due to an accident which rendered her hands incapable of utilizing the delicate surgical skills she developed. Although this was a devastating loss, she states, " Although my hands can't do surgery anymore, I can still heal with them through my words."

She has appeared on numerous talk and news programs and has been widely quoted in many popular publications. Her Contraceptive Guide, written for Modern Bride, gives the latest methods of family planning and birth control. A revised and updated edition will appear in late 1997. She also writes a regular question and answer column, Healthline, for that magazine. Dr. Bovo also writes Doctor on Board, a bi-monthly feature, for Living Aboard boating magazine. Paradigm, a small New England newspaper, as well as free lance articles for many other publications, feature her work.

The Family Pregnancy: A Revolutionary 12 Month Holistic and Medical Guide to Pregnancy is a comprehensive family guide to pregnancy, combining thorough medical research with the author's own experiences as one of the country's leading obstetrician/gynecologist. In reviews, it has been called "the only pregnancy book to have in the nineties".
